Hacking is the most powerful — and most misunderstood — skill system in CyberBlade. This guide breaks down every branch of the Skill Tree and shows you how to build a hacker that owns the neon streets.

How Hacking Works

Every hack in CyberBlade costs Neural Energy (NE) — a rechargeable resource tied to your Neural Processor tier. Basic hacks cost 10–20 NE; elite hacks like Total Blackout drain 80 NE in a single cast. Managing your NE bar is the core skill loop of any hacker build.

Hacks are unlocked through the three branches of the Skill Tree: Breach, Ghost, and Overload. Each branch rewards a different playstyle — stealth, utility, and pure aggression respectively.

The Three Branches

BREACH
Offensive system penetration. Remotely disable weapons, vehicles, turrets and enemy implants.
KEY SKILLS
— Remote Disable
— Weapon Spike
— System Crash
— Network Breach
GHOST
Stealth and evasion. Manipulate cameras, wipe threat status, and move through the city unseen.
KEY SKILLS
— Ghost Protocol
— Camera Loop
— Data Wipe
— Pursuit Break
OVERLOAD
Pure destructive output. Fry implants, detonate devices, and cascade through connected systems.
KEY SKILLS
— Overload Pulse
— Chain Fry
— Total Blackout
— Cascade Fail

Patch 1.4 Changes

Passive hack cooldowns reduced by 12% across all tiers. Ghost Protocol reworked — now breaks pursuit status instead of cloaking. Overload damage increased 8%. Network Breach mini-game difficulty scaled for higher-tier targets.

Recommended Builds

BUILD 01
The Ghost Hacker
Max Ghost + Breach. Infiltrate, disable, extract — never fire a weapon. Highest skill ceiling in the game.
GHOST MAX BREACH 8 OVERLOAD 2
BUILD 02
The Neon Destroyer
Max Overload + Breach. Walk into a district and watch every connected device explode. Low survivability, maximum chaos.
OVERLOAD MAX BREACH 6 GHOST 4
BUILD 03
The Balanced Netrunner
Even split across all three branches. Versatile for any district or mission type. Recommended for new players.
BREACH 6 GHOST 6 OVERLOAD 6

Pro Tips

  • Always breach cameras before entering a restricted zone — one missed camera alerts the whole floor.
  • Chain Fry works on up to 4 connected targets. Look for clustered enemy groups near data terminals.
  • Ghost Protocol (post-Patch 1.4) now breaks pursuit — use it as an escape, not a cloak.
  • Invest in Neural Energy upgrades before unlocking elite hacks — running out mid-fight is fatal.
  • The Network Breach mini-game rewards speed — completing it under 4 seconds grants a 20% damage bonus.
