New zones, factions, and weapons drop this week. Patch 1.4 is the biggest content update since launch — here's everything you need to know before diving into the Night District.
What's New in the Night District
The Night District is New Kyoto's seventh unlockable zone — and its most atmospheric. Nestled beneath the elevated highways of the Nishi corridor, it never sees direct sunlight. Rain is constant. The air quality is a joke. It's perfect.
Three new factions have carved up its alleys: the Veil (data brokers), the Rusted Saints (ex-corpo mercs gone rogue), and a mysterious collective known only as ∅ — who may or may not exist depending on your current hack rating.
New Weapons & Gear
Patch 1.4 introduces 14 new weapons, 3 new augmentations, and an entirely new equipment slot: the Neural Dampener. Here are the standouts:
Veil Arc Pistol
A precision sidearm favored by the Veil faction. Fires concentrated EMP bursts that disable enemy implants for 4.5 seconds. Extremely rare drop.
Rusted Saints Combat Axe
Brutal melee weapon with a built-in shock coil. Deals bonus damage against armored enemies. Perfect for players who like to get close.
∅ Neural Spike
Unknown origin. Rumored drop from completing the hidden ∅ questline. Details classified.
Bug Fixes & Balance
Alongside new content, Patch 1.4 includes over 80 bug fixes and significant balance adjustments to the Hacking skill tree:
Passive hack cooldowns reduced by 12% across all tiers. Ghost Protocol reworked — now breaks pursuit status instead of cloaking. Overload damage increased 8%. Network breach mini-game difficulty tuned for mid-level players.
